About Her-Mask
Previously before this site, I owned Day Dreamin for around 3 years. This was a blog/personal site. After that amount of time I became bored with the name as I felt it was childish. Also, I felt I needed a new start as I had changed so much since I had started the website. I started thinking about domain name’s for about 2 months before actually getting up the courage to buy one finally. Her-mask’s domain was purchased on 12th June 2007 at GoDaddy and was opened on 24th July 2007. Her-Mask is a replacement blog/personal site of Day Dreamin. I decided, would become a collective which would display links to my hostee’s and this site. No hostee’s will be hosted under Her-Mask, as I would like to keep this domain to myself, but hosting is still available with Day Dreamin.
The Name
I decided on Her-Mask, mainly because I feel we all act differently to people in our lives. My behaviour and attitudes differ depending on the person I am with. Also, online and offline, I can seem a different person. Offline I am a little shy until you get to know me, and I’m quite serious in most situations. Online, I’ve become adapted to a more relaxed personality. This is mainly because I experienced quite alot of prejudice offline for my disability, and online I did not. It sounds strange to say things like that, but I think people can generally be more accepting online as they don’t neccessarily have to deal with the person on a constant bases.. Or maybe that’s just how I feel.
Previous Themes

Name: Lilac Waves

About: This was my opening layout for Her-Mask. This was mostly designed in Photoshop CS2, with the wave type shapes drawn in Illustrator CS2 then manipulated. Font used is Scriptina. For my first layout I wanted something simple but elegant in its own way. For this layout I used Centered DIV layers. This is the first I’ve ever tried with this element, and I’m quite pleased with how it came out.

Name: Memories

About: I was looking to create something simple for this layout. I think I accomplised this. This was created in Photoshop CS2 using the default custom shapes, and a brush from Gurly (credits). I really like the colour scheme with this layout and I feel the background looks extra cool
This was a default pattern on Photoshop CS2. Theme also features lyrics from Red Hot Chili Peppers - On Mercury.

Name: Good Times

About: This layout was up for a very long time and that’s because I really liked it. I loved that it was personal to me, but not too revealing (photo use was of me and my Mother when I was younger). Even though the colours where quite bland, I felt they fit together well and really did love having this layout up ![]()
